Karen Wetherall MS, RD, LDN
Dietetic Internship Director

Karen is a registered dietitian with over twenty five years of nutrition counseling experience. She has been a faculty member in the Department of Nutrition, and the Dietetic Internship Director since 1994. She teaches several undergraduate Nutrition classes, and was the Sports Nutritionist for the Lady Vols from 1994-2004.

Before moving to Knoxville Karen was the Director of Nutrition at the Cardiac Rehab Center at the Massachusetts General Hospital. Additional responsibilities included teaching Nutrition at Harvard Medical School. Karen owns her own practice where she provides nutrition counseling for clients with weight management issues and eating disorders.

The Knoxville District Dietetic Association, KDDA, is an active group of over 100 RDs in the Knoxville/Oak Ridge/Maryville area. Most of these RDs have volunteered their time and expertise to train UT Dietetic Interns.
