Gregory Petty Petty

Gregory C. Petty, Ph.D. (University of Missouri-Columbia) teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in Health and Safety. His primary research areas are work ethic for a healthy life, behavioral issues for safety and health including occupational stress and psychometric measures of performance, attitude, and self efficacy. He has contributed to and/or wrote various grants funded by the Department of Health and the Department of Labor and has been a consultant to private industry for organizational behavior and management. He has served in leadership roles to professional organizations as Executive Secretariat (IVETA), Vice President (NAITTE), and most recently as Chair for the New Horizons Research Division of the National Safety Council. He was awarded the Author of the Year (AATEA Journal) and Outstanding Manuscript Award Research Category, (Journal of Industrial Teacher Education), Meritorious Service Award (Goodwill Industries of America), Outstanding Service Award (NAITTE), and Outstanding Teaching Award for Use of Emerging Technologies (INCITE). His academic work includes directing 24 Doctoral Dissertations and 20 Master’s Theses; publishing 43 Peer Reviewed Publications and 53 Scholarly refereed papers at National Conferences.  Some recent publications include:
